How 【Action】 works

【Action】 effects are used during Action steps — the reaction windows that open during battles, where both players can respond before damage is dealt. This is where combat tricks live: AP pumps to win a battle, effects that break an attacker's keyword condition, or defensive Commands that save a Unit mid-attack. Official rulings routinely reference stat changes 'during an action step' altering whether conditional keywords like <Breach> stay live — that's exactly the kind of swing Action timing exists for.

Playing around it

Untapped resources across the table are a threat: attacking into open Action-step mana is how favorable battles turn unfavorable. Track what tricks the opponent's deck plays and force them out on attacks you can afford to lose.
